The LTD program at LUBEC
Is your child a bit reserved, avoids situations or worries a lot? Would you like him or her to be more daring and confident? Learn to Dare then might be for him or her.

About the program
The aim of the 'Learn to Dare!' program (Simon & Bögels, 2014) is to help children with mild anxiety symptoms as early as possible. The program is given to groups and consists of 8 sessions that each last one and half hour. During the program, children practice with situations that make them anxious. From this exposure they learn to gain more self-confidence and to think more positively and become more daring. In addition, the children in the group do relaxation and social skills exercises. The Knowledge Centre Anxiety and Stress is working together with LUBEC, where the program will run.
Who is it for?
The Learn to Dare! program helps children between the ages of 8 and 18 years old who:
- Feel nervous about speaking in front of the class
- Are afraid of making mistakes and ruminate a lot
- Are frequently worried or avoid certain situations
- Are afraid of heights, spiders, the dark, needles or the dentist
Where will the training be held and what will it cost?
The Knowledge Centre for Anxiety and Stress is not a treatment institution, but works together with the Leiden University Treatment and Expertise Centre in Leiden, where the training will be given.
We can offer this program free of charge with the help of a donation from the H.M. Derwort Fund.
